UN peacekeeping missions offer multifaceted benefits—not only to conflict-affected regions but also to the contributing countries. For Bangladesh, participation has strengthened military capabilities through exposure to multinational environments and diverse operational challenges. Troops gain critical experience in diplomacy, negotiation, and humanitarian coordination.

Moreover, peacekeeping enhances the country’s global reputation and soft power, demonstrating its active engagement in promoting peace, security, and human rights. Economically, participation provides career advancement opportunities and financial incentives for peacekeepers and their families.

As of 2025, Bangladesh remains one of the most consistent and impactful contributors to the UN’s global peacekeeping efforts, with thousands of personnel deployed across Africa, the Middle East, and beyond.
