Dhaka experienced renewed alarm as a series of tremors, including a magnitude 4.3 quake, struck on the evening of 22 November. These minor quakes and aftershocks follow the powerful 5.7-magnitude earthquake that jolted the region a day earlier, killing at least 10 people and causing building damage and widespread panic. The consecutive tremors highlight the critical vulnerability of Bangladesh, which sits on an active tectonic zone.

The repeated shaking is a stark reminder that a larger seismic event is a genuine possibility, not just a distant threat. Urban planners and seismologists universally stress that citizens must immediately adopt safety consciousness to prevent further casualties from panic or structural failure.

The government continues to assess structural damage and urges the public to remain calm, avoid spreading unverified rumors, and rely only on official safety guidance.
