Myanmar continued to build momentum at the XXXIII SEA Games in Thailand, securing its third gold medal through billiards and snooker and adding five more medals to its overall tally during a successful day of competition.
The gold medal came from the men’s billiards team event, where Myanmar defeated Singapore by three matches to one in the final. The victory marked the country’s third gold medal at the Games. Following the win, the athletes were honored with cash awards from sports officials and donors in recognition of their achievement.
Myanmar also collected two bronze medals in sepak takraw, finishing third in both the men’s and women’s team regu events. Additional bronze medals were earned in the equestrian event combining dressage, show jumping and cross-countryn and in the men’s and women’s team judo competitions.
According to Myanmar International TV, the strong performances across multiple disciplines reflected the athletes’ preparation and growing competitiveness at the regional level, with officials expressing optimism for further medal prospects in the remaining events.
The XXXIII SEA Games are being held in Bangkok and Chonburi, with Myanmar athletes competing in a wide range of sports. As of the conclusion of competitions on December 14, Myanmar had secured three gold medals, twelve silver medals and eighteen bronze medals, bringing its total medal count to 33 and placing the country seventh in the overall standings.
