In significant high-level engagement, Pakistan's Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, met with Bangladesh's Chief Adviser, Professor Mohammad Yunus, and National Security Adviser Khalilur Rahman in Dhaka on Saturday.

The meeting, held at the Jamuna State Guest House, underscores the ongoing diplomatic and military cooperation between the two nations.

General Mirza arrived in Dhaka late on Friday (October 24) for his maiden visit to Bangladesh as CJCSC. The visit, which is being coordinated by Bangladesh's Armed Forces Division (AFD), continues a series of high-level exchanges between the two countries' armed forces that have taken place throughout 2025.

The Pakistani delegation includes General Mirza's wife, Mrs. Shazia Sahir, alongside senior officials Brigadier Muhammad Rashid Khan and Commodore Khan Muhamad Asif. Prior to their evening meeting with the Chief Adviser, the delegation paid a formal visit to the Pakistan High Commission in Dhaka.

The itinerary for the visit includes several key engagements. On Sunday, October 26, General Mirza will be honored with a joint service guard of honour at Sena Kunjo.

Following the ceremony, he is scheduled to hold meetings with the Principal Staff Officer of the Armed Forces Division, Lieutenant General S M Kamrul Hassan. Later that day, meetings are also planned with Bangladesh Navy Chief Admiral Mohammad Nazmul Hassan and Air Chief Marshal Hasam Mahmood Khan.

On Monday, the delegation is scheduled to visit Sylhet cantonment. Before concluding his tour on Tuesday, October 28, General Mirza is set to meet with Bangladesh Army Chief General Waker-uz-Zaman.
