Saudi Arabia has launched Humain, a new state-backed AI company under the $940 billion Public Investment Fund (PIF), as part of its Vision 2030 plan to diversify the economy and become a global leader in artificial intelligence.

Chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Humain will drive the Kingdom’s AI strategy, focusing on next-gen data centers, cloud infrastructure, and the development of a unique Arabic multimodal large language model — a first-of-its-kind AI tailored for the Middle East.

Backed by the PIF’s staggering $940 billion portfolio, Humain is envisioned as Saudi Arabia’s flagship AI initiative, designed to spearhead development, innovation, and international collaboration in the fast-evolving artificial intelligence sector. The company’s launch coincided with a high-profile visit to Riyadh by former U.S. President Donald Trump, the Saudi-US Investment Forum, which saw global tech leaders like Elon Musk and Sam Altman in attendance, highlighting strong international interest.

Humain is also building the world’s largest AI inference data center in partnership with Aramco Digital and companies like Groq and Cerebras. With Saudi Arabia’s data market projected to triple by 2030, the Kingdom is rapidly positioning itself as a major AI hub.

Humain is more than just a company—it is a cornerstone of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, a transformative plan to future-proof the Kingdom's economy. AI has been identified as a key pillar in this roadmap, with vast resources allocated to its development. This includes the establishment of AI academies, research centres, and initiatives to attract global talent.

With Humain, Saudi Arabia positions itself as both a producer and exporter of advanced AI technologies. By placing cultural relevance, strategic investment, and international collaboration at its core, the Kingdom aims to be not only a participant but a leader in the fourth industrial revolution.
