The Sri Lanka Tourism Alliance has launched a new global tourism campaign titled “Love Sri Lanka, Always,” aimed at repositioning the island nation as a year-round travel destination and encouraging international visitors to discover its diverse experiences beyond traditional peak seasons.
The initiative seeks to reshape global travel perceptions by highlighting Sri Lanka’s seasonal attractions, cultural festivals and natural phenomena, allowing travellers to explore different aspects of the country throughout the year. The campaign particularly targets key international markets, with neighboring India remaining one of the most important sources of tourists due to its short travel distance and strong air connectivity with Sri Lanka.
According to a report by Ada Derana, the campaign is designed to address the long-standing challenge of tourism seasonality by showcasing time-specific experiences such as cultural celebrations, wildlife events and changing monsoon landscapes. By promoting these seasonal highlights, authorities aim to distribute visitor arrivals more evenly across the year and support tourism-dependent communities in different regions of the island.

The campaign emphasizes Sri Lanka’s wide range of attractions, including wildlife reserves, tea plantations, beaches, and historical heritage sites, offering both short leisure trips and deeper travel experiences for international visitors.
Through cinematic films, evocative photography, and immersive digital storytelling, “Love Sri Lanka, Always” showcases unique moments that can only be experienced during particular times of the year. These include the famous elephant gathering at Minneriya National Park, considered one of Asia’s largest wildlife spectacles, as well as the glowing lantern displays during Vesak and the grand procession of the Kandy Esala Perahera.
The campaign will be rolled out through a digital-first strategy combining targeted marketing, visual storytelling, and international media partnerships. Tourism promoters say the initiative will also strengthen the Love Sri Lanka platform as a central hub for travel inspiration and trip planning for global audiences.
Officials say the campaign comes at a time when Sri Lanka is witnessing renewed momentum in tourism recovery, with destinations, hotels and local communities ready to welcome visitors and showcase the island’s culture, hospitality, and natural beauty.
