Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman left Dhaka on Thursday (August 21) for an official visit to China, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has confirmed.
During his stay, General Waker-Uz-Zaman is scheduled to hold meetings with senior Chinese military and civilian officials. Discussions will center on strengthening bilateral defense relations and exploring opportunities for deeper collaboration between the armed forces of Bangladesh and China, ISPR said in a statement.
The visit comes at a time when both countries are looking to expand defense cooperation alongside their existing strategic and economic partnerships.
The Army Chief is expected to return to Bangladesh on August 27.
