Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) prevented 37 Rohingyas, including children, from entering Bangladesh after they attempted to cross the Naf River from Myanmar late last night (October 12). The group, comprising 19 children, 11 women, and 8 men, was intercepted at around 9 PM at the Keruntoli border point in Teknaf's Sadar union, confirmed Lt Col Mohiuddin Ahmed, commander of BGB's 2nd Battalion based in Teknaf.
The Rohingyas had crossed the zero line on the Naf River using several boats, but BGB personnel, who were on routine patrol, stopped the group as soon as they reached the shore. Lt Col Ahmed emphasized that BGB forces remain on high alert to prevent any illegal border crossings into Bangladesh.
