China has strongly condemned an attack on its consulate in Mandalay, Myanmar, that occurred last week. The Chinese government has called on Myanmar authorities to intensify efforts to apprehend those responsible for the blast, a spokesperson for the country's foreign ministry, Lin Jian, announced on Monday.

The explosion, which took place at 5:00 pm on Saturday, caused no injuries but did result in partial damage to the consulate building, Lin said during a regular press briefing.

In response, China has lodged "serious representations" with Myanmar, demanding a full investigation and the strict punishment of those involved, Lin emphasized.

The Chinese consulate has also issued warnings to its citizens, businesses, and groups in Myanmar, advising them to remain vigilant and take necessary safety precautions amid the tense security situation.
