Bangladesh has expressed dissatisfaction with India's explanation regarding the Delhi airport incident involving Prime Minister's Adviser Dr. Zahed Ur Rahman, describing the episode as "unfortunate and regrettable."

Responding to media queries on Thursday, Foreign Ministry spokesperson said the explanation provided by New Delhi was not satisfactory. The spokesperson noted that Indian authorities had been informed through diplomatic channels in advance that Dr. Rahman would lead the Bangladesh delegation to a meeting of the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA).

"Despite prior notification, the incident at Delhi airport involving Dr. Zahed Ur Rahman occurred, which was unfortunate and regrettable," the spokesperson said.

Dr. Rahman was scheduled to head Bangladesh's delegation to the IORA meeting but was reportedly prevented from proceeding through Delhi airport earlier this month.

On India's comments regarding minorities in Bangladesh, the spokesperson said every country has an equal responsibility to ensure the rights and security of all its citizens, including minority communities.

The spokesperson reiterated that the Bangladesh government remains committed to protecting the rights and ensuring the safety of all citizens, including minorities.
