To date, 229 members of Myanmar's Border Guard Police (BGP) have crossed into Bangladesh territory seeking refuge amidst the ongoing conflict between the ethnic Arakan Army and Myanmar troops along the international border.

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) sources disclosed that BGP members, armed and carrying ammunition, were disarmed by BGB personnel and relocated to a secure location as of Tuesday morning.

In response to the situation, the government has placed BGB members on high alert to prevent further infiltration across the Myanmar border during the conflict. Brigadier General Morshed Alam, Commander of BGB Cox's Bazar Region, stated that additional BGB personnel have been deployed in border areas to intensively monitor developments.

During a parliamentary session on Monday, Law Minister Anisul Huq relayed Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's directive to the armed forces and BGB to maintain patience amid the escalating conflict in Myanmar.
