Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Joe Biden recently discussed the situation in Bangladesh during a phone call, according to India's Ministry of External Affairs.

The conversation, initiated by Biden, covered a range of topics including bilateral relations, regional issues, and global concerns. The leaders expressed their shared worries about the current situation in Bangladesh.

“They emphasised restoration of law and order and ensuring safety and security of the minorities, particularly Hindus, in Bangladesh,” the Ministry's press release stated.

The conflict in Ukraine was another major topic of discussion. Modi updated Biden on his recent visit to Kyiv, reaffirming India's stance on dialogue and diplomacy while expressing full support for a swift return to peace and stability.

The leaders also reviewed the progress in India-US relations, emphasizing their partnership's benefits for both nations and humanity as a whole. They reiterated their commitment to enhancing cooperation in multilateral forums, including the Quad.
