Min Aung Hlaing, the junta chief, said that the NLD party acted dishonorably because it refused to cooperate with the military politically, and instead worked out of hatred to eliminate the military’s role in politics.
He made these remarks yesterday while meeting with members of the military community in Magway Township, Magway Region.
He stated that the military had to take responsibility for the state due to electoral fraud in the 2020 general election. He accused opposition parties of committing fraud to ensure their victory in the election, as they did not want to cooperate with the military politically.

During the second NLD government’s tenure, he said the administration functioned under so-called liberal democracy, influenced by foreign interference, and carried out direct and indirect activities that incited hatred against the military. He also blamed the NLD government for failures in economic, administrative, and other sectors, claiming this led to the country’s overall decline.
Min Aung Hlaing said that when elections are held and a party wins, the military will continue to participate in national politics, as guaranteed by the 2008 Constitution, and will uphold and defend that Constitution.
Since seizing power in 2021, Min Aung Hlaing has consistently made statements attacking the NLD party.
