Vietnam's newly appointed Ambassador to Myanmar, H.E. Mr. Ngu Anh Duc, formally presented his credentials to Myanmar President U Min Aung Hlaing during an official ceremony at the Presidential Residence in Nay Pyi Taw on Tuesday.

The ambassador was received with full diplomatic honours, including a ceremonial guard of honor and the playing of the national anthems of Myanmar and Vietnam before the presentation of credentials.

Following the ceremony, President Min Aung Hlaing and Ambassador Duc held talks on strengthening bilateral ties and expanding cooperation across a range of sectors. The discussions focused on enhancing diplomatic relations, friendship, trade, investment and broader economic cooperation between the two countries.

According to Eleven Media, the two sides also explored ways to deepen regional cooperation and reviewed preparations for the upcoming Cambodia–Laos–Myanmar–Vietnam (CLMV) Summit and the Ayeyawady–Chao Phraya–Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy (ACMECS) Summit, both of which will be hosted by Vietnam, with Myanmar expected to participate.

The meeting further discussed promoting people-to-people exchanges, boosting tourism, increasing reciprocal visits by national leaders and senior officials, strengthening parliamentary cooperation, and expanding collaboration in other areas of mutual interest.

The credential presentation ceremony was attended by Union Minister for the President's Office U Khin Maung Yi, Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Tin Maung Swe, Director-General of the Protocol Department U Thet Tun, Ambassador Ngu Anh Duc and his spouse, along with other senior officials. Following the ceremony, the Vietnamese envoy signed the guest book at the Presidential Residence.
