In a joint operation, the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) rescued 31 individuals, including 27 Rohingyas and four Bangladeshis from a human trafficking attempt in Teknaf on (November 18), Cox's Bazar.  

The rescue operation took place on Sunday night in the mountainous Baharchhara Kachapia area of the upazila. Two suspects, Mohammad Anwar (44) of Hnila Ward No. 4 and Atikur Rahman (32) of North Lambari Ward No. 2, were arrested during the raid.  

According to Mohammad Hafizur Rahman, Commander of the Hwaikyong RAB Camp, the traffickers were attempting to smuggle the victims to Malaysia via sea routes.  The rescued Rohingyas will be returned to their respective refugee camps while the Bangladeshi nationals will be reunited with their families. Legal proceedings have been initiated against the two detained suspects.
