Fighting has flared in both Sagaing Region and Karen State, with resistance forces inflicting significant casualties on military columns and seizing equipment.

In Sagaing's Sartaung Township, a local defense force ambushed a military column on October 31, leaving five soldiers dead and ten others wounded after a two-hour battle. An official from the Sartaung Moe Kyoe People's Defense Force stated the attack, carried out under the guidance of the Sagaing District Command, targeted a 60-man column advancing on villages west of the town. Following the clash, the column was forced to retreat back to Sartaung. The defense forces successfully seized one MA-1 rifle, two 60mm mortar rounds, three magazines, and other military gear without suffering any casualties.

Meanwhile, a major engagement is underway in Karen State's Myawaddy Township, where a joint military and BGF column has been encircled near Lay Kay Kaw new town. According to a KNLA military source, the column, which has been attempting to advance since September 21, walked directly into a minefield along the Rathe Gu and Kyaw Wa Boe hill ridge,Khit Thit media reported.

Allied resistance forces have since cut off and trapped the unit, inflicting heavy casualties and leaving many bodies behind. The source stated that despite desperate rescue attempts by the military using airstrikes, drones, and missiles, the column remains pinned down, unable to retreat, and is taking continuous losses. A separate military column advancing from Min Let Pan village toward Phalu is also reportedly being intercepted and attacked.

In a related development, the Karen source alleged that BGF forces are looting the nearby KK Park, transporting seized cars, motorcycles, and electronics to Myawaddy for sale. The source claimed the BGF is demolishing buildings at the site to film propaganda videos, with plans to rebuild larger structures in Shwe Kokko.
