In South Asian geopolitics, the two big countries of the region are India and China. Among the recent elections in the region, the pro-Chinese Mohamed Muizzu has sat on the throne of the Maldives. Two countries were looking at Bangladesh and Bhutan. Bangladesh Awami League, the country's oldest and largest political party, has formed the government for the fourth time in a row. Challenging the West, both India and China support the ruling party of Sheikh Hasina. According to political sources, after Maldives, there is a rivalry between Beijing and New Delhi over Bhutan. In the end, the former Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay's party PDP (PDP), known as the 'friend of India', won the vote of the National Assembly of the country surrounded by the Himalayas.

Bhutan held its second and final round of parliamentary elections on Tuesday. Tshering's party PDP won 30 of the total 47 seats. The new party 'Bhutan Tendrel Party' (BTP), which was formed last year, became the opposition force in the National Assembly by winning the remaining 17 seats.

Bhutan's general elections are held in two phases. The two parties with the highest number of votes in the first phase participate in the second phase. The PDP won over 42 percent of the votes in the first phase of elections held in November. About 20 percent went to BTP.

Outgoing Prime Minister Lotay Tshering's Druk Nyamrup Tshogpa (DNT) party won an absolute majority of 30 seats in the 2018 polls, but came third with 15 percent of the vote in the November election. The 17-member opposition Druk Fuensam Sogpa (DPT) came fourth with just over 13 percent of the vote in the outgoing National Assembly. As a result, DNT and DTP could not participate in the final stage of voting.

Incidentally, PDP leader Tshering was the Prime Minister of Bhutan from 2013-18. Significant progress was made in bilateral diplomacy and trade relations during his time. India's first prime minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, called the two countries (Nepal, Bhutan) India's 'advanced guard', one of the two countries that India's first prime minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, called Nepal, one of the two countries that India's first prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru called India's 'advanced guard'.

Security experts then felt that this incident could become a major cause of concern on India's northern and northeastern borders in the coming days. In this situation, the election of Bhutan, another country on the northern border, was being closely watched. At last King Jigme Wangchuck's country gave relief to New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday sent a message of congratulations to Shering for his victory in the polls. "This will further deepen India-Bhutan bilateral alliance and cooperation," wrote X Handley.

On the one hand, India is relieved because the pro-Indian Tshering Tobagh's party came to power in Bhutan, on the other hand, China is a little behind in regional politics. However, a section of political analysts think that a political balance was created in the region by the coming to power of pro-Indians in Bhutan.

The country held its fourth parliamentary election on Wednesday (January 9) after transitioning from a traditional monarchy to a democratic regime in 2008.

Bhutan has an exceptional feature compared to other countries in the world. It is the only country that officially conducts an index called “Gross National Happiness”. This index monitors and reviews the standard of living of the people of the country.

However, during this year's election campaign, the PDP emphasized on the country's economic growth and various related issues. The country has been suffering from a reserve crisis for the past few months. Such a crisis has never come before in the country's history.

According to Bhutan's official statistics office, one in eight people in the country is currently food insecure. Apart from this, unemployment and unemployment are increasing day by day in the country.

Bhutan, a country with an area of 38,394 square kilometers, has a population of 7,27,145 people, and a total of 5 lakh voters. Most of them voted in the elections.
