A cyclonic circulation over the Bay of Bengal is expected in Andhra Pradesh. It might bring light to moderate rainfall, along with the possibility of squally weather, to parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh in the coming days. According to reports from the Cyclone Warning Centre, the system over the southwest and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal, near north Tamil Nadu and south coastal Andhra Pradesh, has weakened but remains active.
S. Kumar, the Duty Officer at the Cyclone Warning Centre, stated, “The system has become less marked, but the associated cyclonic circulation extends up to 0.9 km above sea level, continuing to influence weather patterns in the region.” As a result, light to moderate rainfall and thundershowers are expected at several places along the coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh and Yanam.
The southern coastal districts, particularly Bapatla, Prakasam, and Nellore, are expected to experience heavy rainfall at one or two locations over the next two days. Squally weather, with wind speeds ranging from 35 to 45 km/h, gusting up to 55 km/h, is likely along and off the south coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh.
Fishermen have been advised to avoid venturing into the West Central Bay of Bengal. The waters off the south coast of Andhra Pradesh and North Tamil Nadu due to the possibility of rough seas and strong winds. The local authorities continue to monitor the situation closely as the system develops.
