The Disaster Management and Relief Ministry of Bangladesh reported that heavy floods have claimed lives across several districts in Bangladesh. Six fatalities were confirmed in Cumilla, five in Chattogram, three in Noakhali, three in Cox's Bazar, and one each in Feni, Brahmanbaria, and Lakshmipur. Additionally, two individuals remain missing in Moulvibazar.
The floods have wreaked havoc in the districts of Feni, Cumilla, Chattogram, Khagrachhari, Noakhali, Moulvibazar, Habiganj, Brahmanbaria, Sylhet, Lakshmipur, and Cox's Bazar. Official data reveals that over 1 million families have been stranded, while 415,273 people have sought refuge in 3,654 shelters. Alongside the displaced residents, more than 22,000 cattle have also been relocated to these shelters.

In response to the crisis, the government has allocated Tk 3.52 crore in cash, 20,650 metric tonnes of rice, 15,000 packets of dry food, Tk 35 lakh for baby food, and Tk 35 lakh for animal feed. A total of 748 medical teams are actively providing treatment to those affected by the floods.

Rescue operations are being coordinated by the army, navy, coast guard, Border Guard of Bangladesh (BGB), fire service, and local student communities, working in collaboration with district administrations. Members of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement have also collected and sent 7,200 bags of relief goods to the flood-affected areas.

The Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief has set up a control room (02-55101115) to monitor the situation and coordinate efforts. The government has urged citizens to support flood victims by donating to the 'Chief Adviser’s Relief and Welfare Fund.'
The Meteorological Office has predicted moderate to heavy rainfall in eastern Bangladesh over the next 24 hours, with the flood situation in the adjacent low-lying areas expected to remain stable. However, there is a possibility of heavy rainfall in the southeastern region and neighboring uplands, which could cause water levels in major rivers, including the Sangu, Matamuhuri, Karnafuli, and Halda, to rise in Bandarban, Khagrachhari, Cox's Bazar, and Chattogram districts.
