The Karen National Union (KNU) and allied resistance forces successfully captured a military base and supply station belonging to the junta in Karen State's Papun Township on April 24, according to a statement by KNU Brigade 5. The township is situated near the northern border of the state, adjacent to Thailand.

Troops from the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA), the People's Defense Force (PDF), and other resistance factions coordinated joint assaults on the headquarters of the junta's Infantry Battalion 434 and its No. 642 Military Uniform and Equipment Supply Station on April 23. The resistance forces seized control of the base and supply depot around 4 am on April 24, as stated by Brigade 5.

Captain L Khu Soe, commander of KNLA Brigade 5, emphasized the ongoing commitment of the resistance to combating the military dictatorship and pursuing self-determination, asserting, "We continue to fight day and night for these objectives."
