The Indian Coast Guard has seized an estimated five tonnes of drugs from a fishing boat in the Andaman waters, marking its largest drug bust to date. The operation, conducted on Monday (25 November), underscores the Coast Guard's intensified efforts to combat drug trafficking in the region.

Defence officials confirmed the scale of the haul, highlighting its significance as a historic milestone in the force's anti-narcotics operations. The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) revealed that the mission, codenamed Sagar Manthan-4, was launched following actionable intelligence.

"We have arrested six Myanmarese nationals from the fishing trawler and it is believed that the Methamphetamine was meant for India and its neighboring countries. We have informed the Andaman and Nicobar Police for joint interrogation," the defence
