Rohingya students want to get involved in the movement to restore Arakan and establish their rights by learning from the student movement in Bangladesh. They hope that what has not been possible so far will be possible through the student movement. For this, the Rohingyas want the support and cooperation of the Bangladesh government, the United Nations and the international community.
Rohingya students and leaders said this in a rally organized on the occasion of Rohingya Genocide Day at Rohingya camp in Ukhia on Sunday (August 25).

Almost lakhs of Rohingya gathered at the soccer field of Camp-4 of Ukhia ignoring the rain. All of whom have despair-anxiety in their faces, but the desire to return to their own country has been noticed. On this day of its 7th anniversary, this stateless people gathered at Camp-9, Camp-13 and Teknaf Rohingya Camp 27. In the gatherings, the air vibrated with various slogans against the Arakan genocide. Rohingya students protested with banners and placards. They chanted 'We Want Justice' demanding justice.
On this day of 7th anniversary, Rohingyas have given 5 demands in the rally. Their demands are,
1. Immediately stop all forms of genocide, violence and attacks on Rohingyas in Arakan.
2. Expeditious repatriation of all forcibly displaced Myanmar nationals, including citizenship
3. The United Nations has supported programs for livelihood and peaceful coexistence with other ethnic peoples of Myanmar.
4. Both the Myanmar junta and the Arakan Army must be held accountable to the UN or the international community for human rights violations and crimes against the Rohingya.
5. We expect concrete action from UN agencies for sustainable repatriation to Myanmar. We, the Rohingyas want to return to our motherland Myanmar. We do not want to live such a stateless and inhumane life in refugee camps. This is not human life.
The Rohingya leaders in the spontaneous presence of the assembly said that the students of Bangladesh have proved that no power in the world can survive if the students are united. Similarly, if the Rohingya students unite and take the field, the junta government and the Arakan Army are bound to fall.

Rohingya leader Master Kamal, Rahmat Ullah, Master Abdur Rashid, Muhammad Musa, Syed Ullah spoke in the rally. Maulana Abdur Rahman prayed to Almighty Allah for justice and safe repatriation of oppression in Arakan.
Wishing for political stability in Bangladesh, the Rohingya leaders said that no government comes or goes in this country is not a matter of our headache. But we want political stability here. Because if there is political unrest here, we need to gain momentum in gaining international support.

Rohingyas have been celebrating 25 August as Genocide Day since 2018 after taking refuge in Bangladesh in 2017 in the face of persecution by the junta government. Rohingyas sheltered in Bangladesh want to return to their homeland. But before that, he called on the international community to ensure security with the military junta and the Arakan Army.
They say that the first massacre was carried out by the military junta. Arakan Army is carrying out genocide for the second time. Already, more than three thousand Rohingyas have been killed in the second round of genocide. The whole of Arakan is still unstable. At this moment, the strong intervention of the international community is necessary.
In their words, it has been seven years since Rohingyas arrived in Bangladesh. International donor agencies are only busy with relief. They have no idea of a permanent solution to the carnage that is constantly going on over there. Repatriation is stuck in diplomatic complications. However, in the face of international pressure, the Myanmar government signed an agreement with Bangladesh at the end of 2017 to take back the Rohingyas. But that repatriation has not yet started. In Rakhine, the Rohingya are being used as a shield in the war by the Arakan Army and the junta government (armed forces). This is their strategy to eliminate the Rohingya population in Rakhine. Many Rohingyas are already dying. Many are fleeing the village. Many Rohingyas are still fleeing to Bangladesh with the risk of death. Many have taken shelter in camps. As a result, unrest is increasing in the camp as well. Besides, many are drowning in Naf river and sea.
Meanwh, about 1.5 million Rohingyas live in Ukhia and Teknaf upazilas of Cox's Bazar. In two upazilas, the total number of locals is about five lakh. As a result, the local population is now a minority there. The law and order situation is also deteriorating. Various crimes including drug, murder, kidnapping and human trafficking are happening in the camp. Currently, the number of Rohingya in 33 camps in Ukhia and Teknaf is 1.25 million. Eight lakh of these came in the months after August 25, 2017. Even after seven years of the Rohingya influx, not a single Rohingya could be sent back to Myanmar.
