Two Rohingya, a woman and a child, were shot by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) while crossing into Bangladesh through Moulvibazar district with a group of seven Rohingya men and women.
The incident occurred around 1:30am on Sunday.

The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. According to locals and police sources, BSF personnel opened fire as the group attempted to cross the border. Both Dilara and Sohana sustained gunshot injuries, and were initially treated at Moulvibazar Sadar General Hospital before being transferred to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital later in the day.

Nazim Uddin recounted that a BSF soldier fired a single shot, hitting his wife and child. He claimed the weapon jammed afterward, allowing the family to hastily enter Bangladeshi territory. He indicated that they had crossed with the assistance of a broker but was unsure of the exact entry point, though locals suspect it may have been near the Lathitila or Murichhara areas along the Juri or Kulaura upazila.

Lt. Col. Mehdi Hasan, Commander of the BGB-52 Battalion, stated that border patrols were active in the area that night but had not received any official report of the incident.
