Ambassador Jeffrey Prescott, the US ambassador to the UN Agencies for Food and Agriculture, declared the pledge to provide $30.5 million in assistance to help Rohingya refugees in Cox's Bazar, Bhasan Char, and surrounding areas, supported by USAID and the Department of State Bureau for Population, Refugees, and Migration, seeks to offer vital assistance like clean water, food, shelter, medical attention, and financial support that encourage self-sustenance in order to decrease reliance on relief assistance.

“We remain committed to working with the Bangladesh government and all of our partners to continue support for Rohingya refugees and for Bangladeshis living in communities impacted by this crisis,” said Ambassador Prescott.

The United States is the main donor for humanitarian assistance in the Rohingya crisis, providing substantial aid to those impacted in Burma, Bangladesh, and the surrounding area since August 2017, they have donated around $2.4 billion, with more than $1.9 billion earmarked for refugees and host communities in Bangladesh.
