Dubai’s Museum of the Future will host the Great Arab Minds Award ceremony on Thursday (January 15), where His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, will recognize six distinguished Arab scholars and innovators. Now in its third year, the initiative has emerged as the Arab world’s most prominent platform for celebrating excellence in knowledge, science and creativity.
This year’s laureates span six key disciplines: Professor Majid Chergui (Natural Sciences), Professor Abbas El Gamal (Engineering and Technology), Dr. Nabil Seidah (Medicine), Professor Badi Hani (Economics), Dr. Suad Amiry (Architecture and Design), and Professor Charbel Dagher (Literature and Arts). Often described as the “Arab Nobel,” the award highlights contributions that advance human progress and civilization, according to Gulf News.
The ceremony will bring together the award recipients’ families, academics, diplomats, scientists, and specialists, alongside members of the initiative’s higher committee and regional and international media. The Museum of the Future also serves as the initiative’s headquarters, hosting a permanent research centre aimed at amplifying the global impact of the laureates’ work.
Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Chairman of the Higher Committee, said the initiative goes beyond recognition by encouraging governments and institutions to invest in Arab research, innovation and creative output. He noted that, under Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid’s vision, the program continues to inspire Arab youth by showcasing role models who have achieved global distinction.
